Hi again,
No joy thus far so I have just sent a brief message to cc@emsisoft.com
My regards
With triple boot of Xubuntu (since 9th April 2009) and Ubuntu (since 1st February 2009) and W98SE (since 1999) and 2.0 GHz + 640 MB ram. In my case, advanced membership status relates to age not to computer expertise. Note: Using the free Linux programs (Wine, default mode set to XP, and Wine-Doors) I still have a-squared Free

Hi Christian,
Thank you for your prompt and helpful response.
I was on line when you posted and used your link almost immediately but nothing yet received.
I read your ISP comment to hewee so Iĺl wait another four hours or so before I try it again.
I use MailWasher and I only sort my emails by date and as I only ever delete manually it seems a bit odd.
I will give a final update before the reply period ends at midnight.
My regards
Hi Lynx,
Thank you for your usual classic help. I cannot recall what I clicked on to send my message to the Webmaster but Iĺl try your link as well if the position is unchanged tomorrow. I really think I must somehow have made a mistake.
Cheers

Hi EMSI/Christian,
On the new site today there is a request to report any problem with the new forum. So I am doing this, but I am not in need of an urgent response.
On 2nd October I seem to have successfully registered with my present nickname, Mike Buxton, but I have still not received a confirmatory email and I cannot perform any ¨membership¨ tasks except, probably, loggingin.
Eight days ago I seemed to have successfully advised your Webmaster of this but I have had no reply.
I suspect I must have done something wrong since I used exactly the same login details as for this forum and I did not see that any of the characters used are disallowed. As I had to confirm my email address when registering it is unlikely, though possible, that I typed the wrong address twice.
My regards

Hi Lynx,
Now that everything is clear I am sure Christian would not mind in the least if you delete this now superfluous thread.
Then the more interesting Cool thread will again be prominent.

Hi Fabian,
I would like to thank EMSI, the moderators (with my congratulations to ctrlaltdelete) and more than a few friendly members for my lengthy benefit of a-squared Free and a wealth of general information and personal advice.

Hi,
Nothing is obvious. So I ask will membership, avatars, history, etc be automatically transferred to the new forum?

Hi bjm,
(1) Googling mamutu rootkits yielded:
What does it detect?
Currently the Malware-IDS can detect the following malware types:
Email worm Spyware/Adware HiJackers Backdoor trojans Trojan downloader with reverse connection logic Dialers Keylogger Rootkits Viruses
(2) Thus the answer to your second question must be also be yes.
(3) If you use the search facility above you should find the answer though, as I recall, it is a well behaved program and you could always conduct your own free trial.

Hi Lynx,
Your reply to bjm was clear and helpful. However, I have to agree with bjm since I consider the quote to be ¨incorrect¨ rather than merely ¨confusing¨.
Since I can neither speak, let alone write, German nor Russian this should seen as a comment not a criticism.

Hi Madeline,
I did not know that a dialup connection rate may well be 10 times faster than its transfer rate.
Your improving my education has come as a severe shock to me - 144 minutes is yonks and gross.
My special regards to you and other im/patient and long suffering a-squared dialup users
