the whole thing is connected to internal system task csrss, which cannot be stopped or deleted with windows means.../Embarassed

You sure that NONE of them detect it? I'd be pretty sure that's a lie. Does this detect it? How bout adaware? How bout spybot s and d? How bout ewido(If you don't have this download now, update and do a full system scan, post your log.)? If your positive none of those detect it send it in here for a squared pros to check out the file. also send it here to be scanned http:\\virusscan.jotti.org . Wait for the results and post them here. Recently today my friend had a very infected comp, I ran all those scans and got him avast and now he doenst have any popups, mind you he had lots of files that were spyware/adware/trojans. Im about positive one of those will get rid of it

W2k happens to be a virus http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w2k.stream.removal.tool.html go there to remove it... or scan with all those other tools lol

I swear truely none of them found it, but with alittle bit thinking i managed to stop it: Go to systemcontrol/management, open services and look for MESSENGER, open the first tab and set autostart to disabled, open the second tab and look foor dependencies ( you need to have RPC, disable this too) Since then i dont get any more messages.(until now) For security check for remote registry access, disable that too (I really dont know what my friend did on the machine before he gave it to me, because it was defect... ) besides that the W2k-filling problem still exists, I think I will reinstall internet-explorer.if <oure interested i made screenshots of all scanreports and of the messenger-stop-action.i can send you a zip-file (2,5M)Cool
